Young Formula speedster Advait Deodhar aspires to create a name for himself in the world of international motorsports.

Currently competing in two championships this year, Advait is in contention to win the national title in the premier MRF FF 1600, India’s highest level of racing. Following this, he will compete in the MRF Renault F2000 International Championship taking place in Bahrain, Qatar and Chennai – a Formula 3 Championship (winter series) comprising well reputed international racing drivers.

His extremely ambitious long-term goals include securing a seat in either the Euro Formula 3 or the Formula Renault Alps series in 2015 – all dependent on a propitious sponsorship.

Travel Coffee Vogue gets travel chatty with Advait, and manages to uncover his sophisticated passion for dining in Italy and travelling in the south of France.

Travel Coffee Vogue: After a hectic schedule, where do you go to simply kick off and have a good time?

Advait Deodhar: Unfortunately, this year hasn’t allowed me to kick off and have a good time after a hectic schedule. There has been so much work to do this year as preparations for 2015 began a long time ago. If I had the choice, I’d love to be at the seaside or go skiing.

TCV: What’s your ultimate travel destination?

AD: I love the seaside. I love the south of France, the Cote D’Azur (known in English as the French Riviera). I also love being in the mountains skiing from 9 – 5!

TCV: What’s the most palatable food you’ve had while travelling?

AD: Pizza Diavola at Partenhope Restaurant in Turin, Italy. I love Sushi, Tandoori Chicken and Pizza. Unfortunately I can’t eat Pizza very often because I need to watch my weight.

TCV:  The best spa experience you’ve had has been in?

AD: I only know one kind of ‘spa’ – it’s called ‘Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps’, the world’s most amazing race circuit!

TCV:  Where did you have your first ‘fun in the sun’ vacation with your friends?

Goa.

TCV: Your favourite place in India?

AD: There’s so many places I like in India: Mumbai, Alibaug, Mandwa, Goa and Lakshadweep Islands.

TCV:  Which place comes to your mind when we say ‘fun family time’?

AD: Any seaside location away from Bombay.

TCV:  If you were asked to pick one of the places you’ve already been to, where would you want to go again?

AD: Bardonecchia, to go skiing from 9 – 5!

TCV:  Can you share with us any quick favourite recipe which you think everyone must try?

AD: I’m not the greatest of cooks so don’t have the best answer for that. But, I’d go with pasta with some Barilla pesto sauce and parmesan cheese.

TCV:  The best places for shopping in India and abroad?

AD: The places with the best sales :).

TCV:  Which is your favourite adventure sport other than Formula racing?

AD: Skiing and sailing.

TCV:  Music or books: which one would be better company when travelling alone?

AD: Both. Music between books.

TCV:  Favourite street food?

AD: Sev puri.

TCV:  A fashion trend that you swear by?

AD: Jeans, t-shirt and a jacket and moccasins.

TCV:  How do you like to spend your weekends?

AD: Racing!

TCV:  Where all have you travelled in India?

AD: A lot of places and there is still so much more to explore!

TCV:  What do you like the best about Mumbai?

AD: It is undoubtedly the most warm and friendly city in the country due to the eclectic mix of people.

TCV:  What is the weirdest thing that ever went into your mouth?

AD: A  chocolate éclair filled with red chillies on the inside.

TCV:  Earth’s crowded and full of trash. Choose another planet.

AD: The moon – I know it isn’t a planet – so I can bounce around all day.

TCV:  If you were the last person left on earth, what would you do?

AD: Attempt to fly around the world from circuit to circuit, driving the world’s best cars. This however depends on if I manage to land the plane and not kill myself.
