Last week Travel Coffee Vogue was invited to Goa by Acron Waterfront, the newest member of the Fortune group of hotels and part of ITC’s Hotel chain. The resort is a beautiful boutique hotel with condo rooms alongside a river, which gets connected to the Baga Beach. One can see the baga beach from inside the hotel. The location is just perfect for anyone looking to experience North Goa and its hot spots and famous beaches.
As we entered the resort we were offered wet towels with a delicious and much needed welcome drink. After we gulped in the drink we were escorted to our rooms, which look much like one room private villas. The rooms offer serene and stunning views of the river, the sea & the courtyard. The rooms were equipped with modern amenities and were elegant looking with an antique touch to it, for me that was added by the antique fan that was put up in the rooms. The room had a veranda where one can chill and have a beer at the night and probably star gaze.
The resort also had a specially designed infinity pool, which has comfortable seabeds in it wherein people can have ball of a time just by sitting. The pool has an extension into the sea; if one is adventurous enough to swim into it at can do it at their own risk. The pool has a bar area attached to it for pool parties and drinks by the pool.
One can also opt for fishing as an activity in the resort, and if you happen to catch the fish the chef will prepare them for you at the River Restaurant. We also tried our hand at fishing and moved to the river restaurant for dinner. The restaurant is spacious and has an outdoor and indoor seating area. We choose to sit outdoor by the riverside and have some happy times with delicious food. We were first served the beetroot and coconut rasam, which was extremely yummy and forced us to ask them for an extra glass of it. Then we moved onto the appetizers wherein the chef suggested us to try dukkah-dusted prawns, fofos-fofos de arroz com queizo and ressois de camarao which were all amazing. I personally loved the dukkah-dusted prawns, which were huge jumbo prawns cooked traditionally in goan masala. For the mains we tried Rahra Gosht, Murg tikka Makhani and Prawn Xacuti Masala; all the three were extremely well cooked with the right spices and flavour but if I had to suggest one I would say Prawn Xacuti Masala, which was again a traditional preparation in Xacuti Masala. Then finally we moved to our dessert, one cannot leave a restaurant without having some very delicious and tempting desserts so we happened to try Chocolate mouse and the Coffee and toasted almond kulfi which was something I had never tried before so the concept of coffee kulfi took me by awe.
The next day we tried some really good therapy and massage at the Sitara Spa, I took a Swedish Massage which helped me relax my body muscles and relaxed my mind and body and my colleague experienced their deep tissue spa. So the spa is one thing I would recommend all of you to experience at the Acron Waterfront Resort at Baga.
We had a pleasant stay and enjoyed all the luxurious service at the resort. Travel Coffee Vogue gives full thumps up to Acron Waterfront Resort.
